Care

Good cloth asks for little: rest, a brush and the occasional press.

Tailoring

  • Hang jackets on a shaped hanger and let them rest a day between wears.
  • Brush wool after wearing; it lifts dust before it settles.
  • Dry clean sparingly, once or twice a season. A steam or a press does most of the work.

Knitwear

  • Air between wears; wool and cashmere rarely need washing.
  • Hand wash cold with a wool detergent, dry flat, and fold rather than hang.

Shirts

  • Wash at 30–40°C, button the collar, and iron while slightly damp.

Leather and suede

  • Brush suede with a soft brush; keep leather away from direct heat.
